Lorraine Pace
Founder/President
On October 10, 2022, Lorraine was honored in Newsday as a Cancer Fighter. On October 1, 2023, Lorraine was honored at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pink Flags Ceremony with Citations from Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, and Assemblyman Michael Durso.
Additionally, in support of Lorraine’s mission, her husband, John, had provided Pro-bono legal service to Breast Cancer Help, Inc. since its inception in 1994. He also was responsible for the formation of the not-for-profit status of the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition for Long Island, Breast Cancer Help, Inc. and the Carol M. Baldwin Research Fund. He had offered advice to many other not-for-profits on how to proceed in forming a not-for-profit. None, of this could have been accomplished without the support of her sons John Pace Jr., Gregory Pace, her daughter Lisa Pace, and her daughter-in-law Donna Pace. Her family has traveled to Washington D.C. and Albany to bring the message to our elected officials. They have joined in with Lorraine on walks and many events to bring the issue out into the open. Lorraine’s five granddaughters have also joined with her and have become active in the fight against breast cancer.
Lisa Pace
Board Attorney
Lisa M. Pace is an attorney and real estate developer who lives in West Islip, New York. She has spent her legal career representing others in the real estate arena while also servicing a local veterinary hospital. Lisa’s personal contribution to the South Shore Arts project, which is designed to elevate Bay Shore and promote its talented community, aligns with her commitment to serve others and, in fact, serves to illuminate her advocacy for raising awareness of the curable disease known as Prostate Cancer.
The passing of Lisa’s beloved father to Prostate Cancer in 2015 was her inspiration to form Women and Men Against Prostate Cancer, Inc. With the help of Lisa’s mother, Lorraine Pace, and Lisa’s daughter, Gianna, Lisa continues to champion awareness and to promote discussions regarding men’s health concerns and the very real need for early detection as a best defense.
Dr. Christopher S. Atalla
Urologist
Dr. Atalla, a Long Island native, is a board-certified urologist. He specializes in urologic oncology. He did his urology training at Detroit Medical Center through Michigan State University. He then continued his training for an additional year with a fellowship to specialize in urologic oncology and robotic surgery with the Minnesota Urology group in Minneapolis, MN. His expertise are in the management and treatment of all urologic cancers including kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer. He specializes in robotic surgery for these malignancies. Dr. Atalla sees patients in his Bayshore office and operates mainly out of Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. Dr. Atalla was asked to join Women and Men Against Prostate Cancer for his knowledge and expertise in treating prostate cancer.
Steven J. Flotteron
Suffolk County Legislator
Legislator Steven Flotteron was elected to represent the residents of the 11th Legislative District in November, 2017. In addition to running a successful insurance practice for the past 30 years, he brings 15 years of Town and County Government experience.Since serving the County, his focus has been on securing the County’s economic security, improving the Waste Water Program and our community’s health and safety with a priority to maintain a high quality of living for families in Suffolk County. While faced with complex and diverse issues during his 15 years of public service, Steve remained steadfast and open minded, and always available to speak with constituents.
Michael Staneck
Reverend
The Reverend Michael Staneck is currently the Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Islip NY and Chief of Chaplains for the Suffolk County Police Department. He is also a survivor of Prostate cancer, after his diagnosis in the Spring of 2021 and completion of treatment at the end of the Summer of 2021. Prior to entering the ministry, he spent close to 25 years in Commercial Floor Covering Sales, which included, approximately 20 years as an owner of a Flooring Company in the NY Metro area. Pastor Staneck’s education includes receiving his Bachelor’s degree at New York Institute of Technology, his Master’s degree at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and various certificate programs over the years., He has lived with an understanding of the importance of faith, family and community for his life as well as those around him and the hope that is found in our God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Pastor Staneck and his wife Tricia, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 2023 and they are the proud parents of three boys and their wives, Matthew (Stephanie), Alec (Kaylee), and Caleb, as well as their three beautiful grandchildren Noah, Lydia and Kinsley.
Susan West, EMBA, RDMS
Secretary
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, Susan West has dedicated her career to caring for patients and promoting wellness within the community. As the Lead Ultrasound Technologist at Good Samaritan's Women's Imaging Center, Susan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in cancer screening to the board of directors at Women and Men Against Prostate Cancer.
Susan's passion for cancer screening and ensuring access to medical information and care drives her commitment to the cause. She holds an Executive MBA in Strategic Leadership from Valar Institute of Quantic University, along with a BS in Diagnostic Imaging from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a BS in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook.
A devoted mother of two, Susan exemplifies a strong work ethic both at home and in her professional life. Her dedication to the community and her belief in the importance of proactive health measures make her a valuable asset to the board.
Judy Walker
Judy Walker, owner of Judy Walker Photography, joined Women and Men Against Prostate Cancer’s Board of Directors in 2022 after a chance meeting with Lisa Pace while photographing her for Long Island Business News. During the photo shoot, they discovered they had much in common, most importantly, a shared commitment to giving back. For years, Judy has worked and volunteered for many nonprofit causes, including The Clark Gillies Foundation, The Jacob’s Light Foundation, EAC, Long Island Home Builders Care, and YMCA LI, to name a few. They both recognized the benefit of Judy serving as a board member due to her expertise in media. As fate would have it, a close family member was soon diagnosed with the disease, motivating her to help raise awareness about the importance of prostate cancer testing and screening for all men.
Judy is the mother of three grown children—John-Wesley Walker, Taylor Walker-Sinning, and Austin Walker—and the grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren. A recent breast cancer survivor, Judy is even more devoted to urging people to get their regular screenings and to advocate for their own health and well-being.
Michael Anderson
Like so many of us, Mike has seen firsthand the toll prostate cancer can take, not only on the men who have been stricken with this disease, but on their families and friends as well. So when asked to join the leadership board of Women and Men Against Prostate Cancer, he jumped at the opportunity.
Mike co-founded and serves as an officer of his family’s philanthropic foundation. He brings his experience and insights running that nonprofit to Women and Men Against Prostate Cancer to further their mission of increasing knowledge and awareness about prostate cancer.
When not supporting the fight against prostate cancer, Mike is enjoying the “second act” of his life coaching swimming at the high school and middle school levels after having spent a career in insurance.

Sunny Ailawadi is a highly experienced Medical Dosimetrist with over 28 years of service at Stony Brook Medicine, where he plays a crucial role in planning precise and effective radiation treatment for cancer patients. Before transitioning into healthcare, Sunny worked as an Electrical Engineer and holds a Master of Science degree from Southern Illinois University. His background in engineering continues to inform his technical approach to medical dosimetry, blending analytical problem-solving with compassionate patient care.
Beyond his clinical work, Sunny has been passionately dedicated to education for the past 30 years, serving as a mentor and instructor for Medical Dosimetry students. His commitment to fostering the next generation of medical professionals underscores his belief in the importance of knowledge-sharing and innovation in the fight against cancer.
